(the Thunder Bay Expressway) from just east of the Arthur Street
intersection. Notice the dual-left turning lanes for traffic turning
eastbound on Arthur Street. The Arthur Street intersection is the
busiest on the Thunder Bay Expressway.

Green signage denoting the Highway 61 junction on the Thunder Bay
Expressway. Highway 11/17 depart the Thunder Bay Expressway at this
junction. Highway 61 follows the expressway southerly for 5km before
the Expressway ends at Chippewa Road (Highway 61B).

The Oliver Road intersection along the Thunder Bay Expressway is dwarfed by
Mount McKay in the distance. Oliver Road was at one time designated as
Secondary Highway 590. A number of highways in the Thunder Bay area
were decommissioned during municipal reorganizations that took place in the
1970s.
