City of Brant County Looking north along Highway 5/24 towards the northern junction of Highway 5.  Heading north, Highway 5 departs Highway 24 via the long ramp to the right.  Interestingly, there is an MTO picnic area located between the ramp and the mainline highways.

City of Brant County Looking west towards the northern Highway 24 junction west of St. George.  At this junction, through traffic must turn left to continue along Highway 5.

City of Brant County This picture shows a wider perspective of the previous picture.  Notice the long directional ramp serving oncoming traffic.  Before Highway 5 was dwarfed by Highway 403, this ramp carried two way traffic as this intersection favoured Highway 5 instead of Highway 24 as it does now.

City of Hamilton Looking west along Highway 5 approaching the Highway 8 junction.  This junction currently marks the western terminus of Highway 5.  West of Highway 8, the now defunct section of Highway 5 continues westerly to St. George, and eventually Paris.

City of Hamilton Looking east along Highway 5 towards the Sydenham Road intersection north of Hamilton.  This is a fairly typical looking view of the very busy Highway 5 between Peters and Clappinson's Corners'.

City of Toronto A special ramp was created linking the express lanes of Highway 427 to Dundas street via Cloverdale Road.  This ramp is important, since without it, Highway 5 (Dundas Street) would not be accessible from the 427 express lanes coming from the QEW.

City of Toronto This sign follows the previous advanced signage for the slip ramp. Notice in this case, that the highway sign is actually located after the ramp.  This type of location for a sign is atypical of Ontario's freeways.
