Looking north along Highway 5/24 towards the
northern junction of Highway 5. Heading north, Highway 5 departs
Highway 24 via the long ramp to the right.
Interestingly, there is an MTO picnic area located between the ramp and the
mainline highways. Picture taken: September 24th, 2005. Size: 55kb. |

This picture shows a wider perspective of the previous picture. Notice
the long directional ramp serving oncoming traffic. Before Highway 5
was dwarfed by Highway 403, this ramp
carried two way traffic as this intersection favoured Highway 5 instead of
Highway 24 as it does now. Picture taken: September 24th, 2005. Size: 65kb. |

| City of Toronto | A special ramp was created linking the express
lanes of Highway 427 to Dundas street via Cloverdale Road. This ramp
is important, since without it, Highway 5 (Dundas Street) would not be
accessible from the 427 express lanes coming from the QEW. Picture taken: May 12th, 2005. Size: 50kb. |

This sign follows the previous advanced signage for the slip ramp. Notice in
this case, that the highway sign is actually located after the ramp.
This type of location for a sign is atypical of Ontario's freeways. Picture taken: May 12th, 2005. Size: 40kb. |
